Henry,
Now that North Haledon has been eliminated, is there any chance of moving any of the games to William Paterson?
Keep in mind, we have WP's field both Saturday and Sunday.
GREAT field, and I think it would be a good thing for the league to play there.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
Scott.

I agree. WP has a great field and ANYTHING will be better then playing twilight/night games at NH. It would be a great opportunity for advancing teams to play on a top notch field and for the league to showcase some of its better teams on a 1st class stage.

I agree with bip that night games at Haledon are not very fun for the outfielders....the lights are positioned so low and are juiced up so bright that half the time you cant even see the ball off the bat.
With that said, I have to add that playing afternoon games at North Haledon is really enjoyable as they do a good job of maintaining the field and keeping it in tip-top shape. My only issue is the lights.

I think we need to give Suffern a serious look at hosting the weekends game, any thoughts?

No William Paterson guys.
Albies just called me and the areas around the field are being worked on.
No one is allowed on the filed this weekend.
I am checking on Hackensack's field.

I would like to give you three options for Saturday and Sundays games.
Play them at 1 and 4 PM in North Haledon.
Play them at 5 and 8PM in North Haledon.
Play them at William Paterson at 1 and 4 PM.
Since we would be changing from a grass to turf field if we moved to WP and it could be interpreted as giving one team an advantage over another I will only move the site if the vote is unanimous. As to the time change in North Haledon I will accept a simple majority.
I would like to hear from each team that is left in the tournament. Please let me ASAP.
PLEASE E-Mail me at hhascup@yahoo.com
Thanks, Henry

Gentlemen, I have heard from 3 teams so far that want to keep it as is.
So it remains:
Playoff Schedule:
Friday:
Teaneck plays Jersey City at North Haledon @ 6 PM
Cresskill plays Ramapo Valley at North Haledon @ 8:30 PM
Franklin Lakes plays Hackensack at Hackensack @ 8:30 PM
Saturday games will be at North Haledon. The 1st game will start at 5 PM and the other game will be at 8 PM.
Thanks, Henry

3 teams isn't a majority though. Having it at 1 and 4 in NH would not give anyone an advantage or disadvantage....it would simply take away the only bad element of an otherwise good field and make the remainder of the playoffs as fair as possible. If it remains a tie right now at 3-3 then there should be some discussion until a majority vote is made.
Scheduling a playoff game as an 8:00pm night game when it could easily be a day game is not only throwing in the issue of "bad lights" but also leaves the door open for a team to have to play a late night game when it is unnecessary (in the case that one team goes into extra innings which has already happened once and almost happened several times in other games). The league has the opportunity to avoid having guys out there at midnight and should do whatever it can to take advantage.
No one knows what teams will be there yet so it offers little advantage to one team or the other to move the time in order to avoid all the obstacles above.

Very well said.
You raise a number of very good points.
We will see what happens.

Robin, I agree with you 100%, but it's hard to change things now because people have already made plans.
Some players, managers & coaches work during the day on Saturday and others already told their teams the schedule for the week-end in advance and they made plans too.
Also, the umpires have made their plans as well.
I received votes from these teams:
Ramapo Valley voted leave as is
Teaneck voted leave as is
Franklin Lakes voted leave as is
The other teams, I didn't hear from.
I am only trying to be fair to everyone, and that's why I put it to a vote, and if it came to a tie, we would have to leave it the way it is.
It's like boxing, if their is a draw, the Champion remains the Champion. Sorry I had to bring up boxing again, but it's the 1st time I did all season long.
Thanks again, Henry

Scott,
I was totally kidding, just wanted to add some humor to the forum, since the duke hasn't offered much. Coming from a pitcher who doesn't strike many out, I rely heavily on the guys who play behind me, and those lights hinder that. My hat still goes off to the groundkeeper there, that field is always in tip top shape. In honor of Lex and Luca, the Henny will be in NH tonight, thats the only thing Singletary drinks.
