I have been in this league for what i think 3 years now and this is my first year being a part of the managers in the league as well. But I would think that people who claim to be coaches and want to be in this league would show some respect for others. We have to charge kids to play in this league, because lets face it, i dont have thousands of dollars to throw around.. my college takes all that. But for the Spartans and their two coaches to have the balls to try and steal every player from my roster and tell them they will get sponsored and play for free is absolutely childish bullcrap. Granted they have not signed the roster form yet but have given me verbal commitment to my team and i have based my budget/lineup/rotation and such on these players who continued to ask me when we start and how much they owe and when to pay by. I just think this is absolutely disrespectful. I went out and recruited my own team from scratch after the Spartans took half of our players from last year (i didnt want them anyway) and now go after my players this year after checking my updated roster on the website. I will be there opening night to watch the fireworks.
I would just like to say to the other coaches as well, i am not an asshole or anything like that. In fact I am pretty laid back, but I think the Spartans have crossed a line. So when we play, if i happen to run the score up and steal when up 10-0 (granted if we take a lead), do not think i would imagine doing it to any of you coaches who have respect for the game, the league, and the other teams.

Jorge, word just gets around pretty quick in our small town. I think a couple of your Bergen guys jumped ship to go with the Spartans because they were all teammates in High School. They have the misconception that because they had a successful run in their senior year of high school together, they can re-discover those glory days in our league.
Dave, don't worry, most of those guys will be knocking on your door next year when the Spartans fold.

I am not allowed to coach any of them...Which I think is unfair. The rule that I can't coach or play along side players that I coach in college is ridiculous. For one, the rule was put in for teams down south and west coast. They play 60 games in the college season. We will only play 25 because of the rainouts. This is why baseball in the east coast suffers at any college level. I just don't think that those type of rules should be there. Now they have me wearing an Ernie Whitt helmet in the third base coaching box. What's next I have to wear a cup and catcher's gear because some idiot was on a cell phone during a pitched ball? LOL As far as the Spartans are concerned. It all depends on their commitment to summerball and how many prefer getting a tan rather than turning two.

I was surprised to hear Jay Luzzi was playing for you now. He's a good kid, so are Malanga and Casesse even though I heard they will be Spartans now. Jorge, as far as Tans vs Turning Two, I think the Spartans will be sponsored by Hollywood Tans and Bar "A"

Dooley would never commit treason like that. If only I could find a way to get him to uphold the integrity of the "Class Athlete" award he won our senior year. He hit a 600 foot HR off me in BP, broke his arm the next game, and retired from all sports for good. I'm thinking about luring him out of wiffle retirement, and having a ceremony to retire his wiffle bat.
