In the latest development in the circus atmosphere that is Belleville politics, the Blue Jays have lost their home field. We now have to use the JV field in the same complex. This is the result of us working on the field to get in Wednesday nights game vs Ramapo Valley. Dept of Public works doesnt like to be shown up when we work on the field because it makes them look bad that we are willing to do a better job of maintenance than they are. When I left the field at 11:30 wednesday night, it was in better shape than the war zone that public works left us at 3pm. There were tire tracks, huge gaping grooves, concrete spots, soupy spots, all on the same field. Troy from R.V. was a witness to the scene, it was bad, but they claim WE destroyed the field. I have some council people working on getting it back and the sportswriter for the Belleville times will be making a case for us next week. We shall see how this all turns out.

Im sorry you have to deal with that kind of nonsense... What can I do? We did a phenomenal job to get that field close to playing shape and should be proud of ourselves... I've been around for a long while and by no means did we do anything to ruin the field... Who can I write a letter to? That's a load of horseshit....

yeah...it's virtually impossible to ruin a field without the aid of some power equipment......we used a couple of bags of Turface and some rakes....
probably good ole union labor pissed they didn't get called to come in on overtime

Yea things are petty in this town... but the good news is that with some lobbying and going straight to the mayor the Jays now have use of the varsity field, under the condition that we are not allowed to touch it.

Just received a phone call from the recreation dept. It rained this morning, so TOMORROWS game vs Bergen Cardinals is already rained out. Awesome work Belleville Dept of Public Works! Embarrassment..
